The City Magistrate shall be the presiding officer of the Magistrate’s Court and shall be selected by the Council and shall perform those functions necessary to the maintenance of a Magistrate’s Court as provided by state statute. (Code 1982 § 3-2-5. Code 2012 § 31.24.)
