(A) Any peace officer may stop a motor vehicle or bicycle if the officer has reasonable cause to believe a violation of this chapter is occurring.

(B) A violation of this chapter is a civil traffic violation punishable pursuant to SLCC 1.05.990.

(C) A person found to be in violation of this chapter and not involved in a motor vehicle or bicycle crash is subject to a civil penalty of not less than $100.00 plus any other penalty assessment authorized by law.

(D) A person found to be in violation of this chapter and involved in a motor vehicle or bicycle crash is subject to a civil penalty of not less than $250.00 plus any other penalty assessments authorized by law.

(E) Violations of this chapter shall be administered pursuant to the procedures for civil traffic violations as set out in SLCC 1.05.990. (Ord. 336 § 1, passed 2-25-2015. Code 2012 § 76.04.)
